This September marks ten years for the Three Blue Ducks, and what a decade it’s been.
An idea born from the surf and anchored in cafe culture, owners Mark LaBrooy, Darren Robertson, Andy Allen, Chris Sorrell, Sam Reid-Boquist and Jeff Bennett, all share the same desire to offer a more sustainable and ethical approach to Australian dining.
Sharing a belief in good ethical food, Mark, Sam and Chris set off to open a restaurant in an old chicken shop in Bronte. In September 2010, the first Three Blue Ducks opened with 18 seats, staffed entirely by the three owners, their friends and family.
Despite growing in owners, and growing from one venue to four (with a fifth on its way), our ethos remains the same “grow what you can, buy food mindfully, buy it locally, cook it thoughtfully and waste nothing where you can”.
We want to take a moment to thank all our customers, producers, suppliers, staff, friends and family for your support over the last decade. What started out as a couple of kids in the surf dreaming up a future has grown beyond anything we could have expected – so thank you.
